In the early seventies, DATA ELEKTRONIK was founded as a company for the “development, manufacturing and sale of devices for electronic data processing”. Following some difficulties in its early years, the company concentrated on the extremely fast-growing market for automatic print output. Even then, DATA ELEKTRONIK offered not only printers but complete printing systems. In the 80s and 90s, complete barcode and identification systems were added to the range of products. Today, DATA ELEKTRONIK is an important partner in the field of Auto ID – rich in both experience and expertise.

DATA ELEKTRONIK was rebranded in 2006 and began a reorientation with a stronger focus on software and project activities in the area of ERP integration. It was as part of this reorientation that the framework for RCOM mobile with its own SDK for hardware-independent solutions was developed.

At the end of 2012, Porsche and DATA ELEKTRONIK implemented the first transparent prototype for the automatic recording of components in an installed condition using RFID. Since then, DATA ELEKTRONIK has concentrated heavily on RFID technology and has developed its own software solutions using the innovative RCOM Gateway middleware. As a result of our connections with more than 500 suppliers working with companies such as VW, Porsche, Audi, Daimler and BMW and the projects we have completed, DATA ELEKTRONIK is now one of the world’s leading providers of RFID solutions for the automotive industry.

With innovative products, DATA ELEKTRONIK offers its customers intelligent solutions in the areas of RFID, production, logistics, order picking, warehouse management and merchandise management across all sectors and branches of industry. In addition, DATA ELEKTRONIK provides its customers with company-specific consultancy and support for all sophisticated systems in its product range.
